The curriculum followed at Sebastopol Charter is based on a developmental model that is directly linked to the age of the student. Below is our grade assignment by student age (birth date) policy.
Students will be enrolled or assigned in the lottery in each class according to their age. See the chart below.
Note: Transitional Kindergarten (TK), applies for those children turning 5 years of age between Sept 2 and February 2 (inclusive) for 2022-2023. For school year 2023-2024 it will be turning 5 between Sept 2 and April 2 (inclusive). All Kindergarten classrooms are mixed age and include Transitional Kindergarten students.
The grade level that you are applying for in our Lottery has been automatically determined by your child’s birthdate. If you cannot find the grade option you want, this is the reason.
If you believe your child should be assigned to a higher or lower grade, you will need to submit an email request to the Enrollment Director, Rachael Flug [email protected] and it must be approved by the Executive Director in order for us to make a change.
