Eurythmy is a Greek word meaning “harmonious rhythm”. In our curriculum, children learn this performing art that integrates and balances their experience in a multi-dimensional way. They learn “courage for the truth” and responsibility for their actions while sculpting the air and painting speech and music visibly in the moment of creation. They become aware of their feelings while showing their inner experiences in every movement and gesture. Using the body as an instrument, they learn to move rhythms and forms in space, discovering that inner experience and outer form come from the same source. Eurythmy brings together the fundamental values of goodness, beauty and truth and is therefore a cornerstone for human development. We are pleased to offer eurythmy to our students each week in Grades K-4.
